Assistance with Funeral Payments

At times funeral service arrangements may be unexpected and therefore the individual who is responsible for the payment is the person who will also authorise the funeral to be conducted.

Centrelink provides financial assistance in the following circumstances:

Married Pensioners

The surviving partner may receive a further 14 weeks of their spouses’ pension and is paid in a lump sum.

Single Pensioners

The estate will receive one full pension payment after the person’s death.

Carer’s pension

As per Married Pensioners.

Sole Parent Pension

As per Married Pensioners.
